Girls' Birthdays

The duo celebrated their 13th birthday last Thursday. The girls chose tacos for their birthday dinner, followed by some delish cupcakes and a couple of presents.

They had some friends over Saturday evening to celebrate. They hung out, had pizza and a second round of cupcakes. It was great catching up with their friends, who had also recently celebrated birthdays, so it was their first official teenager hang out.

We had lunch on Sunday with grandparents, and the duo chose lasagna and their favorite cakes (coconut for Lauren and chocolate for Grace). So blessed to celebrate with grandparents, and many, many thanks for such generous gifts.

Happy 13th!

We are so excited to watch you grow!

Baseball

We briefly interrupted birthday weekend to watch our favorite baseball player.

George, we love watching you!

SRES Open House 10/3

Last night was open house at George's school.

He happened to be dressed for Decades Day/70's day because we stopped by right after school/Discovery Club so he is wearing a shirt from a Shaggy costume.

We admired George's art work (nice job, George!) and enjoyed looking through his journals and seeing what all his class has been working on. They have been exceptionally busy! It's fascinating seeing what all they have accomplished in a few short weeks.

George is loving third grade!

Spirit Week

William George decided to complete an application for safety patrol, and he serves both morning and afternoon shifts, meaning that he gets to school really early and stays late. His first shift fell on the week of spirit week so George was dressed a little atypically every morning. George gets a little nervous about being dressed oddly (he barely participates in pajama day for fear that he will be the only person wearing pj's) so this week we had to really talk him into dressing up, and he was nervous until a fellow safety patrol student showed up in similar garb.

So this week we had...

Tuesday: tacky tourist

Wednesday: Disney Day

Disclaimer: We aren't really Disney people so George opted for Harry Potter (Universal Studios) which was the closest thing we had.

Thursday: Decades Day - 70's

Friday: Team Spirit

George had a great week with safety patrol, spirit week, two open houses and his sisters' 13th birthdays!

Middle School Open House 2019/2020

We had middle school open house last night, and we had a great time meeting the new teachers. We had such a good night talking with everyone that I forgot to take photos.  Plus, middle schoolers aren't really on board with photographic documentation.
