George-isms

As Lauren, Grace and William George become older, their intellects and schedules are exploding with new information and activities. This is such an exciting time! However, the downside is that we are beginning to worry about losing (not remembering) all of their little trio-isms from a simpler time.  In an effort to capture them forever, I'm going to be more diligent about documenting them here.  A couple from George over the last month.

"Awww... you're being a good girl, momma!"

[With an unexpected kiss], "You're just the cutest little momma ever."

He's going to be a wonderful husband and father.

Bb Is For Bear

A couple of weeks ago William George's letter of the week was "Bb". In addition to many awesome activities, the class loaded up for a fun field trip to Build-a-Bear Workshop where they built their newest classmate, Brownie Bear.

The class voted on which bear would be chosen...

 And they carefully built it...

They voted on whether the class bear would be a boy or girl, and they voted on his name.

They danced and sang to give Brownie Bear all the good qualities he would need to succeed in 5K.

Finally, they stuffed him...

 And bathed him...

And they carefully chose outfits.

Brownie Bear is a Braves fan, and he has Batman pajamas. This class of 12 boys won the majority of votes, but the four girls were allowed to pick out a girl outfit, too.

Brownie received lots of love from  his classmates that day.

He, of course, rode the carousel, the escalator and the elevators.  He has also begun visiting his classmates by going home with them.

After the hard work of bear building, Mrs. S had arranged a feast of CFA... and a cookie cake... and ice cream!

George had such an awesome day, and he will never, ever forget that "Bb" is for BEAR.

PS: The next day, fun Friday, was bring-a-bear to school day, and George took "Henry Bear" for the occasion. He borrowed the outfit from his birthday bear for Henry, and off they went!

Birthdays: The Duo Turn TEN

Our dynamic duo turned TEN on October 3rd. All the cliches hold true, i.e., where has the time gone?, we cannot believe it!, etc.  Instead of going down the rabbit hole of nostalgia (although I'm sure I will be doing so later this week), we were swept up in the excitement of double digits.

Lauren and Grace have wanted to get their ears pierced for years now, and we set the age at ten. Therefore, they have been counting down to this birthday. They opted for having a spa day in lieu of a party, and we decided to make an entire day of fun. They had their ears pierced in the morning, and then we went met George and Skip for lunch. Afterward, they had an afternoon of pampering, including a facial, an "updo," mani/pedi, and a they even crafted a personalized bubble bath for later use at home. Grandparents joined us for a special birthday dinner, and then they opened presents.

On Sunday they were honored to serve as acolytes, and we had lunch at a place of their choosing - J Alexander's - so they could enjoy their favorite french fries. We had planned to have a family movie day, but the duo took a "rain check" on the movie and wanted to come home and play instead. They are holding out for Sing later this year.

They had a wonderful weekend, filled with squeals, laughter and excitement.

Happy 10th!
