Mega Sports Camp

This week our church held VBS in the form of Mega Sports Camp. George was an attendee, and Lauren and Grace volunteered to help with the preschoolers.

George had a blast. He chose baseball camp, and he loved learning about Jesus.

Lauren had a fabulous time as well, and she made some new friends with some adoring preschoolers. Grace also had a wonderful and character-building week. There's no way to sugar coat this... she was vomited on the first night and had to change clothing. The second night she was bitten, and by the third and fourth nights, she was simply trying to survive without further incident.

All in all, it was a great week, and Grace has a newfound appreciation for people who work in the children's ministry.

VBS 2018

Vacation Bible School is at the top of the list of events the trio look forward to at the end of each school year. This year was extra special because it is the girls' last year to attend as students. They had a great time going to church each morning to learn about Jesus, and naturally George loved the "Game On" theme.

PS: I would be remiss if I did not mention Lauren's jump rope contest win. Video courtesy of my sister-in-law, Melinda.

VBS, Part Two

This week was Vacation Bible School at our church, and the trio were ready for some Gadgets and Gizmos fun. The program was held Sunday through Wednesday, from 6:00-8:30pm, and although they have been very tired, they have had so much fun learning about Jesus.

Vacation Bible School 2017

Last week was one of the trio's favorite weeks of summer: VBS!

Lauren, George and Gracie climbed into the car on the first day declaring that they had the "best time ever" at VBS. We had purchased the music, and were happily singing along on the commute to/from, and they quickly adapted to the schedule. George had been a little concerned because he wouldn't know anyone in his class, but he made several friends the first day. The girls saw some friends from previous years, and also made new friends this go around.  As a reminder, our church's VBS is at the end of July, but Grammie and Aunt Melinda invite them to visit their church each year for VBS. Since it isn't our home church, the trio do not know as many people.

It was such a special week, and the program was really good. We saw lots of friendly and familiar faces from years past.

Family night was fun as always. Because George is in the younger group, he was visible on the front row, but the duo are somewhere deep in the back, singing and waving their arms with the choreography.

On the last day, they were so excited but sad to see an end to the week. They brought home all of their fun art work and crafts, and have been singing the songs of VBS constantly.

We LOVE VBS!
