Santa Visit 2017

The countdown to Christmas is definitely on, and we were able to get in to see Santa before time ran out. The trio were busily updating and modifying their lists right up until time to talk to Santa, and we know they have been good so they are sure to get a couple of presents off their wish lists.

George's list includes:

a large stormtrooper
a new mini football
digital camera
cars
an Amazon Prime truck
Under Armor tennis shoes

Lauren's list includes:

hot pink bath towels
Eiffel tower for wall (light up one)
cherry wood desk with chair

shoes:
silver Sperry's (like [her] gold ones)
Sperry heels
Adidas shell tops

Grace's list includes:

digital camera with case
comforter
earrings
bike basket
Adidas shells
Boy doll for dollhouse
lotion
earrings
artwork for room

They had a very special visit, and we look forward to Santa stopping by to see us in one short week.

Have you seen Santa yet?

School Christmas Program 2017

The trio's school had its annual Christmas program this past Wednesday. This was George's first and the girls' last Christmas program. They have been practicing their songs for the past couple of weeks, and they were ready to perform.

The fifth grade class decorated with some really pretty snowflakes.

Gracie, walking in with her class.

As prĂ©sident, Lauren introduced and dismissed the program. She was excited to have such a special role.

Unfortunately and despite our excellent seats (for once :), Grace and George were kind of hidden.  However, I was able to borrow footage from friends who had a different angle in order to see those two as well.

We were so glad the grandparents could be there to get some elementary singing for Christmas. Truly, there is nothing better than those little voices.

We love our little school!

Snow Day 2017

It's been a long time since we had a snow day, but it finally happened last week. Last Thursday was our town's annual Christmas parade, and Grace and Lauren's fifth grade class had a float in the parade. Their theme was "Let it Snow".

When snow was unexpectedly forecast, the theme took on a sense of urgency, and they were soooo excited about the prospect of seeing snow!

Unbelievably, everything aligned just perfectly for about three - four inches of snow throughout the day Friday. We had a wonderful time enjoying our snow day, visiting with neighbors, and playing with friends.

A little "snowball"

Pixie LOVES the snow. She completely tore through the yard, even when her bellow was caked with snow and ice. She couldn't get enough.

We had so much fun on this unexpected snow day.

We had lots of hot cocoa.

We made snow men.

We made chili.

We made snow cream.

We had snow ball fights.

We had fun.

We hope we get another snow day soon.

Update

Well, hello there.

We are enjoying that wonderful time of year when I work retail.  Just kidding... I don't really work retail, but I do work in "Santa Shop" at the trio's school, a task that has taken up eleven business days of December. While it's awesome... and fun... and a productive fundraiser, those occupied days throw me wayyyy behind on all other December items.

I will try to catch up some this week (although we are currently prepping school Christmas parties x3), and - spoiler alert - we had snow! So we definitely have a snow update coming soon.

How's your December shaping up? Are you on schedule? Ahead of schedule? Or, like me, woefully behind?
