So what seems like 10 months ago but what was really just the second week of June, the duo went to VBS at Auntie Melinda's (and Grammie's church). They absolutely love the VBS at this church, and this year was no exception.
A huge perk was that Auntie Melinda, the church secretary and overall guru, helps with transportation. Since there were children who needed to be picked up kind of close to us, the duo scored a ride on the bus each day. Needless to say, Auntie Melinda is a total rock star for having "her own bus". You would have thought they were taking a private jet to VBS each day.
As a bonus, she took her bus kids to Dairy Queen one day as a treat. To analogize, that would be like taking a private plane to a meeting -- and scoring a stop in the Bahamas. It blew their MINDS!
On parents' night, we were treated to a musical program that was just astounding. The minister of music is a real talent, and we are always amazed at what he can get the kids to do after four days of practice.
VBS is always a highlight of our summer, and we are so glad to have been invited for another year.
