Vacation 2014: Marco Island (IV)

Friday and Saturday

Friday was our last full day, and we decided to return to the tried and true schedule of spending the morning at the beach, the afternoon at the pool and returning to the beach for sunset. This was the hardest vacation to end, as exactly no one wanted to leave Marco Island. I threatened to do the toddler, open-mouthed cry when the time came to pack. The only thing that kept us from exploring local real estate options is the oppressive heat during the other three seasons of the year to which Skip can personally attest after spending a few years in Sarasota in a past life.

We squeezed every bit of fun out of the last day.

We headed home Saturday morning with fantasies of driving straight through. When we encountered Thanksgiving traffic and two hour delay, we almost gave us, but we persevered and made it home in 15 hours. The trip was well worth the drive, and we would do it again in a heartbeat.

Thank you for patiently enduring a jillion vacation photos. Have a wonderful weekend!
