Halloween 2015

Halloween 2015 was a wet affair, but was somewhat salvageable because it fell on a Saturday so that most trick-or-treater's got an early start to beat the rain. We got up early and assembled our costumes. Before we get to that, Lauren opted to go as "Cheer Bear," and Gracie wanted to go as "Share Bear". While there appeared to be countless Cheer Bear costumes available, there was not a single Share Bear costume available in store or online. When Amazon failed us, we decided to make our own Care Bear costumes, although we opted to purchase George's costume for his reprisal of Snoopy. Grammie indulged him and purchased Woodstock as well, but his game time decision was to go with Snoopy.

And how could we forget little Pixie?

Anyrate... we assembled costumes, picked up Grammie and then met some friends at the park for a Halloween party. The group ate, played and created a couple of Halloween crafts. This is turning out to be a fun Halloween tradition with their sweet friends.

After playing at the park, we went to Skip's parent's Trunk-or-Treat with their church. By now, the rain was beginning to fall so we worked through the cars quickly and came home.

Our plan was to have chili and watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," but the trio voted for tacos instead. So we watched the Peanuts production and then had our tacos.  Grammie spent the night and went to church with us the next morning.  Lauren was very happy about this development, but her lack of smile in the below photo creates a conflicting impression. We were hurrying her for the photo, and she stumbled in her heels on the stairs (uninjured, of course). I'm including the photo for comic purposes and to share the look that she frequently gives me. Ha! (Not really... just sometimes.)

The very first photo posted on this blog was Halloween-related and consisted of two photos and no text, as was my way initially.  See the first post from 2007 here.

PS: For my quick reference, here is Halloween 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
