Grace and Lauren performed in their eighth dance recital a few weeks ago. Although I realize I probably say the next statement every year, this recital really was the best yet. This was their first year en pointe, and they were very nervous about falling. The girls moved up to the evening performance group this year, and naturally the dances become more challenges for the older girls. However, they made it through this year without a fall. Again, with the increased technical level, a couple of older girls did slip, but improvement always has some risk that is worth taking.
We had a wonderful day with the morning rehearsals, a quick lunch and then a quick trip back for the show. They were excited to have their grandparents - Grammie, Gran & Poppa - in the audience, and as always they were sad to see the dance year end.
We love seeing the girls' genuine smiles as they pose and perform. As always, this was one of our favorite days of the year.
