Snow Day, January 2014 (The video edition.)

So a few weeks ago we had an arctic event that ended up producing snow and ice. Although the snow fall was very insignificant, the roads and streets froze quickly. As our city became crippled by ice on all major roadways, causing motorists to be stranded in their cars, children to be stranded at school overnight and many workers to camp out at their workplaces, officials struggled to get our limited snow/ice-fighting resources deployed. (I would be remiss in not giving a shout-out to our small neighborhood for having sand on problematic streets by noon/early afternoon.)

William George and I retrieved the duo from school at 10:30am, and our minivan handled the snow well, with only a slip or two. That left us free to have some play time as seen below:
