Dance Recital 2014

Last Saturday we spent the entire day on all things dance. The duo, along with a few fellow dancers, had to bow out of their Saturday morning softball game, and we went to a local theater first thing Saturday morning for dress rehearsal. We got home around lunch time and then had a couple of hours of down time before heading back for the recital.

William George had a play date (he dislikes the word "babysitter") with his beloved Miss Carly from school. Adjectives have not yet been coined to encapsulate the cuteness of Carly. They ordered pizza, and then apparently had a play marathon while Carly worked herself silly to keep George occupied and happy. Carly's cool expertise allowed us to enjoy the recital. Grammie, Auntie Melinda, Gran and Papa came to watch the performances, and the girls were just giddy. They loved every second of it. To put it into perspective, dance recital day is comparable to Christmas morning for the duo. They were nervous, excited, joyful, happy, anxious and really as beautiful as we have ever seen them.

Well. That is a LOT of photos. If you're still reading (and I must surely be talking only with the duo's grandparents at this point), there is even video! We have had a lot of technology fails over the years so we tend to be more-is-more on the recital coverage.

But so video! Yes, we have that also. Two separate cameras, mind you.

After the performances, we celebrated at the restaurant of the duo's choice. There may or may not have been copious amounts of queso involved, and we can safely classify last weekend as one of the best weekends of the year. Watching them do something they love is magical, and we are blessed to witness it.

PS: Past years include 2011, 2012 and 2013.
