End-of-school party

So last Friday was the last day of preschool. The school had been "tapering" activities and attendance all week so we opted to forgo being at school Friday morning, and decided to attend the party from 10am - 12pm instead. Grammy and Gran were able to attend, and were really good sports about 1) the 90 degree heat and 2) being splashed and sprayed by a group of 22 three year olds.

The party was billed as a "splash party," and it did not disappoint. The school had engineered two sophisticated sprinkler systems, and the children LOVED it. The teachers, saints that they are, were completely drenched themselves.

Here is the line up. As the facial expressions indicate, they are not entirely comfortable with the itinerary/plan yet. In fact, they seem a little wary about parading around in a bathing suit at school. I completely do not blame them.

Lauren remained close by initially:

Gracie, on the other hand, dove right in. She was happiest in the heart of the sprinkler action.

Lauren finally loosened up and had a good time.

Gracie reappeared when it was time to go inside to eat.

We had good food, good fun and a wonderful look back over the past year. Their teacher put together a slide show of the year's activities and events, and it was really amazing to see how much they have grown, as well as what they have learned.

They are excited about the summer break, but are also eager to start their next class in August!
