Stories About George

William George is at that age where everything he says is interesting. Sometimes his comments are insightful and special, and often they are comical. We well remember this phase with the duo and wish more had been documented. If you will indulge me, here are a couple of stories I never want to forget.

Earlier this week we were reading a daily devotional before George's nap. Out of nowhere, he looked up and asked, "Mommy and Daddy love me?"

"More than anything. Always," I assured.

"And Jesus loves me?" he asked again.

"Yes. Absolutely," I told him.

William George has picked up a habit that I attribute to his temperamental two's.  If he bumps his head on a  table or chair (as two-year-olds often do, as everything is suddenly "head high" for them), he cries for a minute, but then gets angry and hits the table, chair, etc.

Last night Lauren was running through the house and struck her knee on a door frame. As she collapsed to the floor crying, George ran over and hit the door frame.  When he looked back over his shoulder and saw that she was still crying, he hit it again.  Then he ran over to her and said, "It's OK, YuYu. I hit it for you, YuYu."

The duo are always looking out for George, and he rarely gets to reciprocate. He rose to the occasion yesterday.

Have a wonderful weekend!
