Where is that big, yellow bird?

A year or so ago, the girls watched "Follow That Bird," starring Big Bird from Sesame Street, more times than I can recall. I certainly wouldn't want to reveal any critical plot points, but there is a scene in which a villain is looking for Big Bird and says, in a heavy French accent, "Where is that big, yellow bird?" Maybe it was the accent or the heavy rotation of the video, but we walked around saying that for months.

Yesterday, blogger Maggie Mason posted an update on the mightyhaus shopping site featuring bird feeders and houses. Delightful, yes?

While I may briefly admire the selection, we are not in the market for additional feeders. I previously confessed here to having an abundance already. Additionally, these houses and feeders -- while lovely -- do not provide the squirrel deterrence that we need.

See the squirrels' nests in the trees next to our lot?

We really have to have the more industrial-looking feeders. That probably works out well because if I had one of the cheery yellow feeders I would relapse into repetitiously saying, in an embarrassingly bad accent (think southern + bad French), "Where is that yellow biiiiird?"
