William George, six months

Granted, this post is a little past the actual six month birthday, but bear with me.

William George, you are six months old!  You are still a very easy-going baby, even though  you have had some issues with allergies.  You have maintained a wonderful disposition throughout chronic itching, formula changes, medication and allergy testing.  You're simply a pleasant baby, until you get mad, and then you are incensed.  Skip attributes that quality to my temperament, but I believe you received that trait from both of us.

You continue to be very social, and you love to talk to your sisters, to family members and to other children.  You are a big hit at the girls' school.  Their friends and teachers peer into your stroller, and they all know your name.  One of your favorite activities is the school commute in the mornings and afternoons.  We know this because you get antsy during the morning and afternoon hours on the weekends.  You are shark-like, in that you like to be on the move.

You mastered sitting up between 5-6 months, and this is now your favorite position.  When you are on your tummy, you pop up on your toes, with a perfect push-up angle, and you hold your push up for quite a while.  You are scooting backwards, and you frequently are on all fours.

To date, your teeth have not made an appearance.  Your top front teeth are almost visible, but they have been that way for weeks.

You continue to say "mamma" and "dadda" daily.  Reluctantly, I will admit that "dadda" has become your favorite word, but you said "mamma" first.  You seem to be attempting to mimic certain words, as you will often "mouth" words we try to teach you.

We have established your own, personal bedtime routine.  Once you are bathed and have on your pajamas, we read "Goodnight Moon" and then sing two songs ("You Are My Sunshine" and "Jesus Loves Me").  I "sign" some of the words in "Goodnight Moon" for you.  Again, you are quite the little mimic.  Sometimes when I sign "cow," your move your hand involuntarily, mimicking the cow sign.

At your six month appointment, you were 26 1/2 inches long (75-85th%), and you weighed 15lbs 8 1/2 ounces (25-50%). Your head circumference was 17 1/4 (75-95th)*.

Overall, you are doing fantastic, and we cannot wait to see you grow and change over the next six months!
