Easter, Part One

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. We had a great time at church, visiting family and hunting eggs, of course. I have hundreds of photos through which to sort, but, in the meantime, I wanted to share the letter the girls drafted to the Easter Bunny. On the drive to school last week, Lauren told me that we needed to tell the Easter Bunny about George. She went on to explain that we did not have George last year, and we needed to tell the Easter Bunny that he lives with us now so he would be sure to leave a basket. We had a serious talk and decided the best course of action would be to write a letter.

In the interest of time, they dictated their letter to me Saturday night. They were very careful with their language, making sure they were direct enough to convey their point. Their letter reads:

Dear Easter Bunny,

George is our new brother. He likes boy toys. We hope you understand.

We still like girl toys, and thank you for coming to our house and leaving us toys and candy.

We love you!

Gracie & Lauren

Lucky for us, the Easter Bunny completely understood their correspondence because there were THREE baskets Sunday morning!  Upon close inspection, the girls confirmed that George received boy toys, and they were pleased that George had been accommodated as well.

Over breakfast, they decided that the only mistake the Easter Bunny made was with the placement of the baskets.  They pointed out that George's basket should have been placed in the middle.  "It's okay... he didn't know," they said.  I'm sure the Easter Bunny is contemplating how to up his game for next year to be sure he nails proper basket placement.

Until then, I will sort through photos and work on updates.
