Principal of the Day

Back when the duo's school had their 5K run, the girls were qualified to be entered into a drawing to become........drumroll.......Principal of the Day!

Gracie won the drawing! Upon the announcement being made, I was told that you could hear her and the whole second grade class cheering and squealing all the way to the front office. Lauren confirmed that her class cheered for her as well.  To Gracie, this was a huge deal, filled with many possibilities and opportunities. After a couple of long weeks, the day for her to report for duty finally arrived. She carefully planned a professional looking outfit and took a special notebook for jotting down notes. She reported to the principal, who mentored her throughout the day, and even picked up lunch at Chick-Fil-A for Gracie and a fellow student who had the honor of being PE Teacher for the Day.  Gracie carried a radio, met with teachers and even counseled a kindergarten student who presented with a behavioral issue. She spent time with the principal working alongside her and had more fun that she had imagined.  At the end of the day, she climbed into the car and was completely fatigued. Gracie would agree that being an elementary school principal is a non-sedentary,  high energy occupation. She wrote her principal a thank-you note and is going to miss hanging out with her tomorrow.
