Skip's Birthday

Skip celebrated a birthday on October 24th, and it was a milestone. 

He had previously vetoed any type of party, and had kiboshed the gift we had planned. However, he didn't expressly say, "No pranks!"  

Therefore, the trio and I scheduled a little surprise. Miraculously, Pixie didn't bark when the prank was being set up in the wee hours of the morning, and Skip was truly surprised when he looked out through the blinds at the front lawn.  

The trio's comments were as follows: 

Lauren: It's prank year.  I warned you last year.  

George (looking at the herd of faux deer in the yard): Can I keep one? PLEASE? Just ONE???

Grace: Do you like it, daddy? 

Such a sweetheart.  

After the morning excitement, everyone headed out for school. Later that evening, we had our usual dinner, and we absolutely had caramel cake.  

Skip had volunteered to help with basketball evaluations at a local church, and therefore, we postponed presents.  

We finally got to them!
