Weekend Update

We had a great three day weekend. We started off by having going to a carnival at the trio's school, and they had the best time. I volunteered to "man" the admission booth so I did not get a single photo, but it was a great night, with or without photographic evidence.

Our crew was exhausted the next morning so we had a pajama day and looks things kind of easy. William George spent some time listening to music with Pixie.

Later that afternoon, we went out to some property in our neighborhood (permission granted, of course) and took some fall photos. (Update soon.)

The trio missed a tennis lesson during the photos, but since they did such a great job, we went to the playground.

The next morning, Skip and George donned their Boy Scout uni's to march in our country's oldest and largest Veteran's Day parade! George proudly walked the 1.5 parade route, shaking hands with veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom, as well as all of the veterans who have protected our country in between the above-named wars. Although our country isn't perfect, we respect those who have defended the US and its sacred freedoms.

After the parade, the girls and I met up with Skip and George to have an early dinner/late lunch (dunch? lupper?) at Cheesecake Factory (their fave) to celebrate several events over the last few weeks (e.g., presidential nominations, successful speeches, excellent progress reports, global scholars and the earning of badges). We had a LOT to celebrate and had such a great time.

We came home to watch Alabama play Mississippi State, and that game turned out to be a real nail-biter.  Skip and I went to the game a few years ago with Miss State was undefeated. In that particular game, Miss State trailed the entire game, and the atmosphere at Bryant Denny was intimidating. However, Miss State never gave up, didn't lose hope, was NOT intimidated at all and were a complete class act. We always remember their mindset and were not surprised by how well they played. Fortunately, it ended favorably, and Alabama remains undefeated.

The girls served as acolytes the next morning at church, and we had a pretty relaxed Sunday after an eventful weekend.

How was your weekend?
