Weekend Update

For the first time in forever the duo were off for Good Friday, and we had a great day of hanging out. We had a long talk about Good Friday and at 12:05pm we discussed the significance of the crucifixion.  George, whose class has been studying Easter for a couple of weeks, told us the entire sequence of events. Poor Grace burst into tears (again) and said tearfully, "You know I'm tender-hearted and that I can't bear to hear this!" She also burst into tears during a choral Easter program one year at church. We love her good and pure heart.

We talked about resurrection day and how special Sunday is so that we could end on the highest of notes.

We also cleaned/reorganized closets and came to the realization that Grace only has three pairs of shoes that fit. So went grabbed some dinner out that evening and made a last minute shoe shop for some Easter shoes for Grace. She tried on every shoe in her size in the store. "Is your foot growing while we are here???" I asked her at one point.  She finally settled on a shoe (but decided later to return it because it isn't a great fit). She wisely opted to wear black (gasp!) Mary Janes and hold out for a better shoe.

Saturday means baseball... at least for the next few weeks. We picked up Grammie and a coconut cake for Sunday and then got ready for George's game. We packed up all of our things (soooo much stuff) and watched the A's play an awesome game against some good friends.

After the game we grilled hamburgers and had a great evening, consisting of some important Easter prep (update soon).

We hope your weekend was great as well and that you had a wonderful Easter.
