Signs of the early days

Now that we are entering our third week with Baby George, I thought I would post some of the early signs of his arrival.

We ordered our wreath from our neighbor's daughter, and we have not yet been able to remove it.

The balloons were first memorialized here.  However, they are worthy of a second mention because it is very unusual for us to make it home with the balloons intact.  Many of our balloons have met with an early demise when they encountered our ceiling fans, and we have as of yet made it to a birthday party with the decorative balloons.  Helium is the bane of our existence.  The fact that these balloons saw the interior of George's room is rather remarkable.

When we arrived home, we were greeted by this sign from our church.  The girls reported that "Miss Beverly stuck it in the ground with her foot".  So thoughtful.

This next one is definitely our favorite.  This banner was crafted by Lauren and Gracie, and we just took it down last weekend.

A less obvious sign are the images of Baby George sunbathing during his many, many naps.  Our discharging pediatrician recommended placing him near a window in lieu of a bilirubin light, and he embraced the sun exposure immediately.  Accordingly, we have a pack-and-play positioned in front of a casement door.

He enjoys sleeping in the sun even more than cats do!

One of the more delicious treats we received was from one of Skip's coworkers (everyone has been SO kind).  Needless to say, Gracie and Lauren were very excited to receive this edible bouquet.

Although I think it is too pretty to eat, they are demanding a nibble.

We have also received countless cards and goodies, along with many, many congratulatory wishes.  We cannot thank everyone enough.
