So this past Monday was the actual day -- the birthday. As mentioned, Lauren was worried that she would wake up Monday morning and none of her current clothing would fit... that she would become a BIG GIRL over night. Gracie, on the other hand, was concerned with celebrating in style. For starters, she wanted breakfast in bed.
We were happy to accommodate.
Then we headed off to school, with cupcakes in hand, to have their celebrations in their respective classes. Their classmates have been incredibly sweet to help them ring in the ripe old age of five, and I think last Monday will go down as one of the high points in their little academic lives so far. They both reported having "the best day ever".
After school, we had dinner at home. After dinner, Gracie had to feed her baby.
And then there was more singing and more cake!
We have spent the rest of the week recovering from all of the excitement and sugar. Thanks to everyone for making the 5th birthday a blast!
