Today in the Show Us Your Life series, the discussion turns to window treatments.
With our house, we inherited two fabulous cornice boards that adorn two sets of French doors. The first treatment is in the keeping room and is painted pale yellow match the walls. The raised detail adds texture, and the overall effect is soft.
Although painted differently, the same cornice board can be found over the door in the dining room. Painted glossy black adds more drama, and the raised detail is painted gold to balance the brass chandelier. This treatment seems more ornate.
When we first moved into our home, we had to take a second look to be sure these treatments were an exact match.
Interestingly, the treatment is stamped: "1946 Made In England Francesca". We would love to know more about how these interesting treatments made their way to our home.
What adorns your windows and doors?

Beautiful detail work!
How pretty! I've never seen anything quite like your window treatments, but they are gorgeous.

Thank you, @Tammy and @Meagan! And I cannot believe we inherited them either!
